Counselling & Psychotherapy Services Near Gorey, Co. Wexford

Welcome,

My name is Tim Walsh. I am an IACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in beautiful coastal countryside south of Gorey Co. Wexford and within easy reach of Arklow, Enniscorthy and Wexford town. I am committed to Providing Professional, Person-Centred, Confidential and Non-Judgemental Counselling, Psychotherapy, Training and Support Services which cater to the individual needs of my clients. All of my work is supported by regular Expert Professional Collaboration, Public and Professional Liability Insurance, and by an on-going commitment to Continuing Professional Development.

I have been working in ‘helping professions’ for over twenty years and having a valuable impact on people’s lives is very important to me. I work collaboratively with my clients to develop new skills and perspectives for greater clarity, confidence, positive mental health and peace of mind. With me, Adults and Groups feel safe to express their inner-most thoughts and feelings. I listen respectfully, with sensitivity and acceptance, and facilitate exploration of concerns with compassion and understanding.

My Counselling Room

I use a range of individualised dynamic models, methods, theories, techniques, modalities and approaches to provide an Integrative, holistic, Person-Centred way of working towards greater awareness and recovery. CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Mindfulness are particularly useful if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, fear, stress or are having suicidal thoughts.

EFT (Emotion Focused therapy) is good if you are experiencing relationship concerns, sadness, or other strong emotions like anger or resentment. MI (Motivational Interviewing) and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy) can provide good grounding for treatment if you are having an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, shopping or food; or feel you may have an addiction. Addiction Counselling also draws on CBT and other modalities.

Person-Centred, Humanistic, or Client-Centred therapy underpins all of my work, but is most evident during Bereavement Counselling. I also draw on Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Expressive, Existential and other therapies to practice a down-to-earth style of psychotherapy; blending clinical expertise with sensitivity, perception, intuition and humour if appropriate.

When facilitating Training and Therapeutic Groups, I ensure that it is safe for group members to give and to get support around shared concerns, and to learn new skills in a supportive environment.

A culture of Professionalism, Respect, Competence, Integrity and Best Practice supports the delivery of all my services, administration and record keeping; and the Values, Principles and Code of Ethics set down by the IACP guide all my Policies, Procedures and Practices.
