Personal Profile
I grew up within sight of the sea and always loved animals and the outdoor life. I still find nature, the wild and the domesticated, deeply revitalising and feel very lucky to have been able to make my home back here again in 2003, after 18 years living and working overseas.
Having worked in a variety of jobs, I eventually became a post-primary and adult teacher, tutor, facilitator and mentor. This work led me to want to work at a deeper level with people and so I went back to college to study Psychotherapy in 2008. Nothing ever grabbed me like psychotherapy. Unbeknownst to myself, it was to this profession that I was heading all along.
Life was not always plain sailing, and like most people, I visited some tough places within myself over the years. But to the good in the end, and it is often on those experiences that I draw to do better psychotherapy.
My sense of purpose is most satisfied when using my education and training, my knowledge, skills and my experience to engender and facilitate change and well-being in others. I am encouraged and uplifted by the inherent courage and wisdom of the human spirit, and in its capacity to heal. I greatly value the trust my clients give me to work with them at a deep level and truly enjoy my work. I feel very privileged to have found my role and my forte.
